Has anyone been on the longest escalator in the world? Well as a matter of fact I have. During our stay in Hong Kong me and my family went and visited the worlds biggest Escalator. The Escalator has a Total length of  800m and a vertical climb of 135m. In 1993 the escalator was criticised for being 153% over budget  and failed to do its job of easing traffic in mid levels and central, In the end the escalator ended up at a whopping 240 million honk kong dollars roughly a whopping 40 million nz dollars. The escalator took  us roughly 50 minutes bottom to Top. the escalator goes downhill to 10am then it switches and goes up hill till midnight and then switches again. Its estimated that a total  80 thousand people travel on it every day.
